Electric vehicles have stolen the show at this year's edition of India's flagship motor show Auto Expo 2023. Popular brands Maruti Suzuki and Kia Motors unveiled their concept electric vehicles while Hyundai launched its all-electric model Ioniq 5 and Tata Motors unveiled electric SUV Sierra. However, one of the most unique EVs to be showcased at this year's Auto Expo were electric scooter Liger X and Liger X+ by Liger Mobility, which claims that they are the world's first self-balancing e-scooters. Liger X price According to a report by HT Auto, Liger X will be available for around Rs. 90,000 (ex-showroom) after applying the FAME-II subsidy. For the unaware, FAME or Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric vehicles subsidy was conceived by the government for EV manufacturers to reduce the price gap between fuel-based vehicles and EVs. Earlier the subsidy was capped at 20% of the cost of the vehicle but now it has been revised as FAME-II and is capped at 40% of the cost of the vehicle. কখনো পাখির মত ডানা মেলে আকাশে ওড়া, তো কখনো মাছের মত সমুদ্রের অতলে পাড়ি দেওয়া, বিজ্ঞানের আশীর্বাদে মানব সভ্যতা এমন কত কিছুই করে দেখিয়েছে। আধুনিকতার জয়যাত্রাকে সুন্দরভাবে এগিয়ে নিয়ে চলেছে বিজ্ঞানের সঠিক প্রয়োগ। একদিকে যখন পরিবেশ দূষণের নাগপাসে আটকে এই জগতসংসার, ঠিক তখনই অপেক্ষাকৃত কম দূষণ সৃষ্টিকারী বৈদ্যুতিক যানবাহনের জন্ম। জীবশ্রেষ্ঠ মানুষ এবার এই জাতীয় ব্যাটারি চালিত গাড়ি-ঘোড়ার সাথে অত্যাধুনিক প্রযুক্তির মেলবন্ধন ঘটাতে তৎপর। এমনই এক অভাবনীয় সেলফ ব্যালান্সিং (Self Balancing) টেকনোলজি যুক্ত ইলেকট্রিক স্কুটার প্রথমবারের জন্য দেখতে চলেছে এ বিশ্ববাসী। অটো এক্সপো ২০২৩-এ এমন বিশেষ বৈশিষ্ট্যযুক্ত ইলেকট্রিক্স স্কুটার আত্মপ্রকাশ করতে চলেছে। যদিও তারা ওই প্রযুক্তির ঝলক দেখিয়েছিল ২০১৯ সালে। মুম্বাই কেন্দ্রিক দেশীয় স্টার্টআপ সংস্থা- Liger Mobility-র এই বৈদ্যুতিক স্কুটারটির এক বিশেষ বৈশিষ্ট্যের গুণে কোনওরকম সেন্ট্রাল কিংবা সাইড স্ট্যান্ড ছাড়াই নিজে থেকেই দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে পারবে। ২০১৯ সালে প্রথম Liger Mobility এরকম সেলফ ব্যালান্সিং এবং সেলফ পার্কিং টেকনোলজি সমৃদ্ধ ইলেকট্রিক স্কুটার প্রকাশ করেছিল। তবে সেটি ছিল প্রোটোটাইপ ভার্সন। আর যেটি আসতে চলেছে সেটি হল প্রোডাকশন মডেল অর্থাৎ উৎপাদনের জন্য প্রস্তুত। অর্থাৎ আগামী কয়েক মাসের মধ্যেই সাধারণ জনগণের কাছে পৌঁছে যাবে এই অবিশ্বাস্য বৈদ্যুতিক স্কুটারের চাবি। Liger Mobility-র সেলফ ব্যালান্সিং প্রযুক্তির এই স্কুটারটির ডিজাইন খানিকটা প্রাচীনপন্থী হলেও আধুনিক বৈশিষ্ট্যের কোনো কমতি নেই এতে। এক ঝলকেই দেখলে অনেকেরই এই স্কুটারটিকে ক্লাসিক ভেসপা (Vespa) ডিজাইন বলে মনে হতে পারে। যদিও এতে বেশ কিছু ইউনিক ডিজাইনের ছোঁয়া নজরে আসে। একদম সামনে প্রথমেই চোখে পড়ে ডেলটা আকৃতির এলইডি হেডল্যাম্প, যা সামনের অ্যাপ্রনের উপরেই অবস্থিত। এর ঠিক উপরে রয়েছে সরু এলইডি ডিআরএল। এমনকি সামনের কাউলের সাথেই লাগানো রয়েছে এলইডি টার্ন ইন্ডিকেটর। এই ইলেকট্রিক স্কুটারটির অন্যান্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বৈশিষ্ট্যের মধ্যে রয়েছে ডিজিটাল ইন্সট্রুমেন্ট ক্লাস্টার, চওড়া এবং আরামদায়ক সিট, গ্র্যাব রেল, এলইডি টেললাইট, সামনে থাকা টেলিস্কোপিক সাসপেনশন ইত্যাদি। তবে ম্যাট রেড রং ছাড়া এর কালার অপশন এখনো পর্যন্ত অবগুন্ঠনেই রাখা হয়েছে। সাথে রয়েছে অ্যালয় হুইল। ব্রেকিং এর দায়িত্ব সামলাতে সামনের চাকায় ডিস্ক ব্রেক থাকলেও পিছনে রয়েছে ড্রাম ব্রেক। নির্মাতার কথায় এই স্কুটারটি এমন এক অভাবনীয় প্রযুক্তি নিয়ে এসেছে যা ভারতবর্ষের মাটি থেকেই জন্ম নিয়েছে। এই নতুন প্রযুক্তি রাইডারদের সুরক্ষার বিষয়টি আরো নিশ্চিত করবে। এর পাশাপাশি চিরাচরিত স্কুটারের তুলনায় এই ইলেকট্রিক স্কুটারটিতে আরো আরামদায়কভাবে চলাচল করা সম্ভব হবে।
