Electric vehicles have stolen the show at this year's edition of India's flagship motor show Auto Expo 2023. Popular brands Maruti Suzuki and Kia Motors unveiled their concept electric vehicles while Hyundai launched its all-electric model Ioniq 5 and Tata Motors unveiled electric SUV Sierra. However, one of the most unique EVs to be showcased at this year's Auto Expo were electric scooter Liger X and Liger X+ by Liger Mobility, which claims that they are the world's first self-balancing e-scooters. Liger X price According to a report by HT Auto, Liger X will be available for around Rs. 90,000 (ex-showroom) after applying the FAME-II subsidy. For the unaware, FAME or Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric vehicles subsidy was conceived by the government for EV manufacturers to reduce the price gap between fuel-based vehicles and EVs. Earlier the subsidy was capped at 20% of the cost of the vehicle but now it has been revised as FAME-II and is capped at 40% of the cost of the vehicle. It should be noted that the pre-booking for both the models will begin in mid-2023 and the company plans to start delivering the units by mid-2025. Liger X specifications Exact specifications of the electric scooters have not been disclosed but a lot is already known about them. Both Liger X and Liger X+ will have a top speed of 65 kmph, and while Liger X claims to offer 60 kilometers range on a full charge, Liger X+ will give riders a range of 100 kilometers. Both the models will get a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack which is built to suit Indian While the battery capacity is not known, the company claims that Liger X will get a detachable battery pack which will take less than 3 hours to recharge. Liger X and Liger X Plus Electric Scooter unveiled at Auto Expo 2023 : इस साल एक ऐसा इलेक्ट्रिक स्कूटर लॉन्च किया जाएगा जो खुद बैलेंस बनाने में सक्षम होगा. शुरूआती दौर में ड्राइविंग सीख रहे सख्स भी इस ई-स्कूटर को आसानी से चला सकेंगे. सफर के दौरान धीमी रफ्तार होने पर या ई-स्कूटर रुक जाने पर गिरने का डर नहीं होगा. दरअसल ऐसा इसलिए दावा किया जा रहा है क्योंकि आज ऑटो एक्सपो (Auto Expo 2023) के दूसरे दिन मुबंई की इलेक्ट्रिक व्हीकल बनाने वाली कंपनी लाइगर मोबिलिटी (Liger Mobility) ने देश के पहले सेल्फ बैलेंस फीचर से लैस ई-स्कूटर से पर्दा उठाया है. कंपनी अपने इस खास फीचर वाले ई-स्कूटर के दो वैरिएंट – Liger X और Liger X Plus को आने वाले दिनों में बाजार में उतारेगा. खुद से कर सकेंगे बैलेंस फीचर की सेटिंग लाइगर ने ऑटो बैलेसिंग (AutoBalancing) टेक्नोलॉजी का इस्तेमाल करके अपने ई-स्कूटर को तैयार किया है. सेल्फ-बैलेंसिंग के बारे में कंपनी ने बताया कि इस खास फीचर की बदौलत ई-स्कूटर छीमी रफ्तार में या रुक जाने पर खुद-ब-खुद बैलेंस बनाए रखने में सक्षम होगा. आमतौर टू-व्हीलर बैलेंस धीमी रफ्तार के मुकाबले तेज रफ्तार में आसानी से बनाया जा सकता है. मगर सेल्फ बैलेंस फीचर से लैस ई-स्कूटर को धीमी रफ्तार या रुक जाने पर बैलेंस किया जा सकाता है. ई-स्कूटर ड्राइवर के पास मैनुअल तौर पर सेल्फ बैलेंस फीचर को एक्टिवेट करने का विकल्प होगा. ड्राइवर अपने अनुसार रफ्तार के हिसाब से इस फीचर को सेट कर सकेगा. सेल्फ बैलेंस से लैस ई-स्कूटर में ये मिलेंगे फीचर्स Liger X और Liger X Plus दोनों मॉडल के ई-स्कूटर में सेल्फ बैलेंस फीचर समान दिया गया है. इसमें नए और पुराने फीचर एक साथ देखने को मिलेंगे. नए ई-स्कूटर में बेहद खास डिजाइन का LED हेडलाइट लगा है. ई-स्कूटर के दोनों वैरिएंट की अधिकतम स्पीड प्रति घंटे 65 किलोमीटर है. कंपनी का दावा है कि सिंगल चार्ज में Liger X ई-स्कूटर 60 किलोमीटर का रेंज देता है. इस स्कूटर में लगी डिटैचेबल बैटरी की चार्जिंग टाइम 4.5 घंटे है. वहीं Liger X Plus में नॉन डिटैचेबल बैटरी लगी है. कंपनी का दावा है कि सिंगल चार्ज में Liger X Plus ई-स्कूटर 100 किलोमीटर की दूरी तय कराएगा. इस बैटरी को फुल चार्ज करने में 3 घंटे समय लगेगा. जानकारी के मुताबिक कंपनी की ओर से दोनों वैरिएंट के लिए फॉस्ट चार्जिंग विकल्प भी उपलब्ध कराया जाएगा और इसके लिए ग्राहकों को अतिरिक्त चार्ज चुकाना पड़ सकता है. फीचर के लिहाज से देखें तो दोनों वैरिएंट में स्मार्टफोन के साथ कनेक्ट करने के लिए 4G कनेक्टविटी और GPS इनेबल का सपोर्ट दिया गया है. जिसकी मदद से ई-स्कूटर के लाइव लोकेशन, राइड हिस्ट्री, बैटरी पैक SOC और टेंपरेचर की जानकारी मिलती रहेगी. नए मोबाइल ऐप कनेक्विविटी से लैस इस ई-स्कूटर में टो, एक्सीडेंट, सर्विस, मेंटनेंस संबंधित तमाम अलर्ट भी मिलेंगे. For this, both these electric scooters will use engine power instead of the battery. To further improve the riding experience, Liger has also promised OTA (over-the-air) updates for the Liger X and Liger X+ scooters.
Additional features that will be offered by the Liger X and the Liger X+ electric scooters will be a TFT dash that will display notification alerts and also turn-by-turn notifications once the cluster is paired with the smartphone using a proprietary app.

Speaking of the powertrain, the Liger X and the Liger X+ will be packed with a Li-Ion battery setup. The former will ship with a removable Li-Ion battery setup, while the latter will be released with a non-removable battery module.
The exact battery specs aren’t disclosed, but the charging time will be 4.5 hours with the standard charger. Both the Liger X and the Liger X+ will offer around 60km and 100km range on a single charge respectively. The top speed attained by both Liger X electric scooters will be 65kph. While the pricing details aren’t out, both Liger X and Liger X+ self-balancing features will come in Grey, Polar White, Blue, Red, and Titanium.

Liger X, X+ self-balancing e-scooters: details
Mumbai-based start-up Liger Mobility has taken the wraps off two new electric scooters, the Liger X and the Liger X+. Both feature the company’s proprietary AutoBalancing technology which allows the e-scooters to stay upright at a standing start and even at low speeds without the rider having to use his/her feet to stabilise it; this also works when reversing the scooters. While this AutoBalancing feature can be switched off manually by the rideronce the scooter crosses a predetermined speed.
Additionally, the Liger X and Liger X+ also feature a Learner mode, which allows the rider to limit the top speed of the e-scooter in conjunction with the AutoBalancing feature. The models are also capable of receiving OTA (Over The Air) software updates.
Undoubtedly, the party trick of the Liger X and X+ e-scooters, is the self-balancing feature which is acheived through a gyroscope under the seat unit.
The Liger X features a removable lithium-ion battery pack which can be charged to full in 3 hours. Its top speed is 65kph and it can cover 60km on a single charge (both claimed figures). The Liger X+, meanwhile, uses a non-removable battery pack that can be charged fully in 4.5 hours and gives the e-scooter a claimed range of 100km.

Bookings for the Liger X and Liger X+ electric scooters with AutoBalancing tech will open by mid-2023. Tech start-up Liger Mobility has unveiled what is said to be the world’s first self-balancing electric scooter at the ongoing Auto Expo 2023. The company plans to open bookings by mid-2023. The Liger X and Liger X+ electric scooter come equipped with the company’s AutoBalancing tech, which was developed in-house. According to the company, the system is aimed to improve comfort and convenience by helping the rider balance the scooter at low speeds or when stationary. The Liger e-scooter also comes with ReverseRide and Learner modes. The former enables the rider to reverse the scooter using the electric motor’s power, while the latter limits the top speed and enables AutoBalancing. The Liger e-scooter comes with a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery. The Liger X has a removable battery that offers a range of 60 km, while the Liger X+ comes with a non-detachable battery offering a maximum range of 100 km on a single charge. The charging time for both battery packs is 3 hours and 4.5 hours, respectively. The Liger e-scooters come with 4G and GPS connectivity. They are equipped with a TFT display, offering features like turn-by-turn navigation, calls and messages. The scooters also support OTA updates.
