The home-grown brand had showcased an earlier concept on the same lines as well Liger Mobility, a Mumbai-based start-up, has announced its plans to showcase India’s first self-balancing electric scooter at the Auto Expo 2023. The biannual event, which skipped a year in 2022, will kick off this week in Greater Noida, UP. Getting back to Liger Mobility’s electric scooter, the brand claims the auto-balancing technology, which Liger has developed completely in-house, enables the electric scooter to balance automatically. With the Auto Expo just days away, Mumbai-based EV startup, Liger Mobility, has confirmed that it will be showcasing the world’s first auto-balancing electric scooter at the expo. What stands about the Liger scooter, is the fact that the self-balancing technology has been developed in-house. This should not come as a surprise as, Liger Mobility has been founded by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian School of Business(ISB) alums, and comprising of an accomplished team of engineers.
Considering Liger Mobility had showcased a pre-produciton model of the self-balancing scooter back in 2019, it would be interesting to see how far the close-to-production EV has come. While no details on the scooter’s performance specs and battery pack have been divulged yet, several images of the scooter accessed by TOI Auto, reveal some key information.
The self-balancing scooter will sport a modern-retro theme. It will get all LED lighting on the front and back. Multi-spoke also wheels will be offered with telescopic suspension at the front. In terms of features, the scooter gets a digital cluster with OTA updates. The scooter will also showcase self-parking, ARSAS (advanced rider safety assist), learner mode and reverse function. While that sounds exciting, how well would the single disc upfront and drum brake at the rear would perform, remains to be seen.
The design for the head lamp is triangular, with a strong DRL integrated with the head unit. The seat looks to be wide, so we can expect the scooter to be tuned towards being comfortable.

Mumbai-based electric mobility brand Liger Mobility has announced it will be unveiling its first electric scooter at the Auto Expo 2023. Interestingly, this also makes it India’s first self-balancing electric scooter.
While the details are scarce, the officially released images reveal that the e-scooter gets a neo-retro styling with a LED headlight unit that resembles Iron Man’s Arc Reactor. Pretty cool, isn't it?

Liger Mobility is all set to unveil the world's first auto-balancing electric scooter at Auto Expo 2023. The homegrown electric mobility startup claims its upcoming electric scooter can balance itself independently without assistance from any side or centre stand. This makes the e-scooter one of a kind in the bulging electric two-wheeler segment in India as well as in the global market as well. The name of the scooter will be announced at the event.
Mumbai-based Liger Mobility already teased the self-balancing and self-parking technology-enabled electric scooter in 2019. However, that was a pre-production prototype, and the model it will showcase at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023 is ready for production. HT Auto got exclusive access to the scooter's photographs before its unveiling at the Auto Expo.
The self-balancing Liger electric scooter comes blending retro styling with modern features. At the very first glance, it appears influenced by the classic Vespa design. However, the distinctive styling elements are clearly visible. At the front, the scooter gets a delta-shaped LED headlamp positioned at the front apron, while there is a sleek horizontal LED daytime running light (DRL) at the top. The front cowl also houses the roundish LED turn indicators.
Other features of the Liger self-balancing electric scooter include an all-digital instrument cluster, a wide and comfortable seat, a grab rail at the back, an LED taillight, telescopic suspension at the front etc. While the colour options of this e-scooter have not been disclosed, one of them will be Matte Red. It runs on alloy wheels wrapped with meaty rubbers. For braking duty, the front wheel comes equipped with a disc bake, while the rear one gets a drum brake.
The manufacturer claims that this electric scooter gets revolutionary technology that has been developed in-house in India. This technology is claimed to enhance rider safety of the electric scooter significantly while ensuring better rider comfort and convenience compared to any other traditional scooter.

Liger Mobility : Indian Startup Develops India’s First Self Balancing Scooter
India is one of the countries where two-wheelers are still used by the majority of the people. Due to a variety of factors, the majority of road accidents also include a two-wheeler. Authorities have developed a number of laws and regulations to make things simpler for two-wheeler riders over the years, yet accidents still happen. Before arriving at the version seen in the video, the group conducted research and produced various prototypes. The scooter in the video is also a working prototype. The crew has been working on this scooter for several years, and the configuration appears to be nearly ready for production. The self-balancing scooter makes moving easier and provides impact protection. Any petrol or electric scooter may be fitted with the self-balancing system. An electric scooter is the one shown in the video. As previously said, the scooter seen above is a prototype, and the team behind it is known as Liger Mobility. Before beginning production, they are working on refining some of the other aspects of the scooter. This technology is being developed by a number of companies, including Liger Mobility. Another consideration for the crew while they worked on this project was the expense. They didn’t want to create a self-balancing scooter that is out of reach for the average person. According to the video, the cost of this self-balancing scooter will be only 10% higher than that of a standard scooter.

Cela peut se vérifier jour après jour avec l’apparition sur le marché de plus en plus de motos et deux-roues électriques issus de développements menés par des entreprises. Dans un autre registre, la start-up indienne Liger Mobility vient de présenter un système stabilisateur plutôt bluffant.
Le système gyroscopique est encore en cours de développement. Néanmoins, la vidéo proposée par la jeune entreprise indienne est assez étonnante, surtout quand on devine les moyens bien inférieurs de la start-up par rapport aux technologies semblables développées par Honda ou Yamaha. L’innovation technologique porte sur le système stabilisateur, ici monté sur un scooter électrique dont raffolent tant les marchés japonais. Des impulsions autocorrectrices sont transmises au châssis pour empêcher le scooter de basculer, ce qui a pour effet de le rendre particulièrement stable à l’arrêt comme en mouvement tout en n’entravant pas sa maniabilité. Liger Mobility a également incorporé sur le scooter un système permettant qu’il se gare dans une zone déterminée de façon autonome, mais surtout qu’il sorte de son emplacement à la demande de son utilisateur à l’aide d’une commande à reconnaissance vocale. Un processus révolutionnaire jusqu’ici inédit. Si le principe d’auto-stabilisation est déjà utilisé sur certains modèles de scooters en phase arrêtée, l’utilisation d’une commande vocale, couplée à ce système gyroscopique est en revanche véritablement novateur. La vidéo du système en action est impressionnante et préfigure de l’apport des technologies dans le développement des deux-roues de demain.
